Boise ~ A Little Something for Everyone
  • North End ~ North Boise is commonly known as downtown and where you will find historic homes and neighborhoods, including the tree-lined Harrison Boulevard.  Many are renovating turning-of-the-century North End bungalows and renewing Boise's original neighborhoods.  Hyde Park is located in the middle of the North End, with small shops and popular restaurants.

  • Northeast ~ The character of this neighborhood northeast of downtown is heavily influenced by the historic Warm Springs Avenue.  Large Victorian homes make the avenue a tourist attraction and many of the houses are geothermal heated.  The foothills are located in the East End, which includes many modern homes with enviable view of the city.  Northeast Boise also contains some of Boise's largest parks.

  • Northwest ~ From its eastern boundary near Eagle, the district touches the Boise River to the south and stretches north to include some of Boise's most exclusive subdivisions and the Quail Hollow Golf Course.  Although new homes punctuate the landscape, you will still find horse pastures and older farm homes in this area.

  • South ~ Just across Interstate 84, the neighborhood unfolds across a high desert plain.  Traditionally known for its rural aesthetics, the area has seen enormous growth of new homes and neighborhoods in recent years with fields being cleared almost overnight to accommodate the new construction.

  • Southeast ~ Home to Micron Technology, the area has numerous subdivisions, with attractive green spaces. Southeast Boise is also home to Barber Park, which is the popular launch site for the longtime summer tradition of rafting the Boise River.

  • Southwest ~ This area of has many acre-sized plots, along with a few farmhouses and pastures.  Growth in the area was limited in the 1980's due to the moratorium on new construction to prevent urban sprawl.  Since it was lifted, there has been widespread growth of new homes and neighborhoods.  The area lies close to Interstate 84, theaters, shopping, the airport, golf and the Boise Bench.

  • West ~ This area is home to the Boise Towne Square Mall, the largest in the state, as well as numerous restaurants and residential developments ranging from new subdivisions to apartment complexes.

  • Bench ~ Divided by Interstate 84, the Bench includes the West Bench, dominated by HP and the Boise Town Square Mall, and the Central Bench which is home to quiet bungalows.  Boise's largest parks, such as Ann Morrison Park and Kathryn Albertson Park are found in the Central Bench area.
